Michael Jackson owes Paris Jackson a thank-you note.
That would be radio personality Michael Jackson, and not his namesake and Paris’ late father.
Paris, the singer’s only daughter, rushed to the Hollywood Walk of Fame upon hearing that someone had defaced Michael Jackson’s star. She kneeled down on the sidewalk and scrubbed the graffiti off of it.
But it turned out that the star was not the one that honors her dad, but the one for the other MJ.
That didn’t seem to matter to Paris when it was explained to her.
“I don’t think it was intentionally targeted it at (my father),” she said, according to seriouslyomg.com. “I think it was probably just some young kids (expletive) around, but to me a name is a name and I couldn’t just hear about it and not go see it for myself.”
Paris also Instagrammed an image of herself during the clean-up.
“some people have no (expletive) respect,” she captioned it. “i understand that there is a difference between the radio emblem and the record, but a name is a name.”
Despite the star being originally mistaken as the King of Pop’s, Michael’s older brother, Tito, was glad to see his niece take quick action.
“It makes very proud and very happy to see Paris taking pride in her father’s legacy,” Tito told TMZ.
British-American Michael Jackson, 84, was radio talk show host whose Los Angeles-based broadcasts covered arts, politics and human interest subjects, according to his Wikipediapage. He hosted from the 1960s until the early part of this decade, and was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2003.
