White clothes often start to look dull and don’t remain white after many washes. They can be easily covered in stains due to sweat and oils, and they can get discolored by the colors from other clothes. So, the merely whitish color they have is far from beautiful.
Clothes seem brighter and whiter as they work by changing UV light waves to improve blue light and minimize yellow light. However, numerous optical brighteners are made from benzene, a harmful compound that has been linked to cancer.
Here a list of alternative choices to help you clean your house and clothes:
- Baking Soda
Mix 4 liters of water with one cup of baking soda then soak your white fabrics in the mixture. It helps to avoid fragrance and other addictives or chemicals and you can find them in laundry detergents.
After soaking in the mixture, your dull white clothes turn as brighter ones!
- Distilled White Vinegar
Add one cup of distilled white vinegar to the natural laundry detergent of your choice to make the detergent more powerful. Distilled white vinegar helps to remove stains. It is a wonderful remedy to remove sweat and oil stains that are formed around the armpit and collar areas. Pour some distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz the strains.
- Dishwasher Detergent
A typical dishwater cleanser and an eco-friendly cleanser can help you to brighten your garments. It’s not prescribed that you wash your dresses exclusively with dishwasher cleanser, yet adding only a tiny bit to your customary clothing cleanser can give it an additional kick.
Add 1/4 container to your clothing cleanser and wash your garments obviously. Prefer cleansers that are have no chemicals or added substances. Stick to sans chlorine and sans phosphate variants.
- Lemon Juice
You can use lemon juice to whiten or to brighten your clothes. Add a cup of lemon juice to your white clothes and make wash them in the washing machine. Then, hang the clothes outside to dry.
