‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Episode Runtimes Reportedly Revealed and Fans Are Disappointed
Aside from the fact that Game of Thrones is returning for the final time this year, fans of the series have been incredibly excited for this season considering the fact that all the episodes are believed to be longer than normal, and have been compared to movies.
So when suspected runtimes for the episodes of Season 8 apparently leaked today, it wasn’t crazy to expect lengths all longer than 90 minutes. However, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to fansite Watchers on the Wall, French TV group Orange Cinéma Séries held an event to promote some of their upcoming offerings, including GoT. Entertainment site Premiere was there live-tweeting, and announced the runtimes for each episode. Let’s just say, there’s nothing too impressive about them, to be honest.

Translated, here’s what we can expect per episode:
Episode 801: 60 minutes
Episode 802: 60 minutes
Episode 803: 80 minutes
Episode 804: 80 minutes
Episode 805: 80 minutes
Episode 806: 80 minutes
While getting four episodes running 80 minutes is exciting, it’s way less than what we were lead to believe. Plus, Watchers on the Wall points out that if this report is true, Season 8 would total to 440 minutes—which is actually two minutes shorter than Season 7’s 442 minute total.
However, it’s important to note the final season is not even fully done yet, as edits are still being done. That being said, we can’t fully trust this information as the final runtime for each episode. But if it turns out similar, many fans will be pretty disappointed.
These six episodes better blow our minds.
Game of Thrones returns for its final season on April 14.
