POKEMON GO news this week features the Legendary update and how it has seemingly added a hint of nightmare fuel into the game.
Pokemon Go news this week has been dominated by the appearance of both Lugia and Articuno.
It’s all wrapped up into the events surrounding the PoGo Festival in Chicago, which left many who attended without a proper connection for hours.
But while the dust settles and fans prepare to apply for their refunds, it appears Niantic’s latest update to Pokemon Go may have added a few scary glitches.
A new bug has reared its head which transforms the likes of Lugia and Articuno into fully fledged nightmare versions of themselves, complete with bendy extremities and distorted faces.
Some of the original pictures first surfaced this week on Twitter, which were quickly compared to other scary video-game encounters.
The biggest problem isn’t the new elastic-look though, but the fact the glitch also meant that players lost out in catching the Lugia and Articunos affected.
That’s a massive concern, especially when you consider that Niantic have confirmed set times for when the new Legendary birds will be available.
Niantic recently provided more information on the subject, confirming the official schedule for some of the existing, and future Legendary Raids being provided.
Based on the efforts Saturday at Pokemon Go Fest, Lugia and Articuno were unlocked. In the weeks ahead, they will be joined by Moltres and Zapdos.
- Articuno (Team Mystic) released on Saturday, July 22 and available through Monday, July 31.
- Moltres (Team Valor) to be released on Monday, July 31 and available through Monday, August 7.
- Zapdos (Team Instinct) to be released on Monday, August 7 and available through Monday, August 14.
It’s likely that this latest Pokemon Go glitch will be patched pretty quickly to avoid it happening to any further raid encounters.
A recent report from dataminers have revealed some of the base capture rates for the new Pokemon Go added to the game.
According to the latest info, the base Capture Chance is set at just 3% for Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, with Lugia even lower with 2%.
The chances of capture can be boosted in a number of ways, including using a Golden Razz Berry and performing a special throw.
With an excellent throw and a golden berry, players can up their chances of catching one of the Legendary birds to 23.59%.
Lugia is actually much tougher, under the same circumstances the same combo will boost your capture rate to just 15.73%.
