POKEMON GO news this week includes Niantic’s next major update, which is likely to prove very popular with its Android and iOS Trainers.
It appears that Niantic have decided that this summer will be the biggest period of growth and change in the popular app’s short existence.
Another big Pokemon Go update is in the works and it’s not the Mewtwo launch reveal.
While the arrival of the powerful Psychic-type will prove popular with fans, it appears Niantic have something else brewing,
That’s because evidence has been found that suggests Gen 3 Pokemon could be launched very soon.
According to the latest information from dataminers, a small update was recently deployed that included some BIG changes.
And according to those who have looked at the current build, all 135 Gen 3 species names were added to the game.
That’s a huge range of new Pocket Monsters to catch, and will prove a big addition.
Gen 2 was added to the game back in February, with recent launches including some of the missing Legendary-types.
However, while this proves that Niantic are putting in place a plan to add new Pokemon, it’s still probably a little while away.
That’s because there’s currently no other information in the game code, that includes the absence of Gen 3 moves and sound files.
It means that we’re probably maybe a month away from a full launch, which would make a lot of sense.
Mewtwo is probably going to arrive near the start of September and could be part of a new Legendary event that lasts a week or two.
That would give Niantic just a little cooling off period before they release the next major Pokemon Go update.
The latest patch also included a few other new items that look set to be deployed in the near future, including a Super Incubator icon and a Shiny spawn reference.
