“Pokémon Go” players have likely heard that there is a Halloween-themed event coming soon.
This post on Pokemon.com even confirmed it. Thus far, though, developers have yet to reveal anything about the event other than it will feature “plenty of good stuff.”
In the absence of new details, it may benefit players to take a look back at what the Halloween event was like last year.
A little under a year ago, players were able to earn extra Candy while the Halloween event was live.
On top of that, certain Pokémon also spawned more frequently while the event was taking place. To be more specific, the event increased the encounter rates for Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee, Hypno, Gastly, Haunter and Gengar.
It is possible that the developers may have other things in mind for the 2017 edition of the Halloween event, but if they do opt to stick close to what they did last year, that likely means specific creatures will be appearing more often in “Pokémon Go” again.
Those aforementioned Pokémon could have their spawn rates increased yet again, and there may be other creatures added to the list since Gen 2 Pokémon are now present in the game.
Misdreavus would seem to fit in ideally in the Halloween event. This ghost-type Pokémon has a unique way of sustaining itself that involves scaring other creatures.
Another Pokémon that would work well for the Halloween event is Crobat. Given that Zubat and Golbat were already chosen last year, “Pokémon Go’s” developers may just go ahead and complete the family by adding Crobat to the mix.
If developers also want to feature a psychic-type Pokémon this year, they may then go with Wobbuffett.
With Halloween fast approaching, developers should reveal more about what the upcoming event will feature very soon, so “Pokémon Go” players may want to stay tuned.
