A NEW Pokemon Go update appears to have revealed more on Niantic’s Anniversary event plans, following news that the development team have made Raids available to everyone.
While Niantic continue to tinker with the content and features available in their hit Android and iOS title, more details have been discovered on impending changes.
A new Pokemon Go update has been datamined and revealed to contain a big hint towards what’s happening later this month.
A minor bug fix was released by the team has now been found to have added an additional data string into the app: ONE_YEAR_ANNIVERSARY.
This is reportedly an event type, meaning that something big is being planned for launch.
As you can imagine, Niantic probably want to celebrate the game’s first year in style, but what that could mean is anyone’s guess.
The game officially launched on July 6, so that could mean an event launching very soon.
And if there is something coming, we can expect to hear more in the coming days
This could be an event in the style of the recent Solstice Celebration, giving fans the chance to grab some different Pokemon types and earn some bonus exp in the process.
It could also have something to do with Pokemon Go Fest in Chicago, with Niantic perhaps thinking about setting up the first major worldwide Raid to unlock the game’s Legendary Pocket Monsters?
Nothing has been confirmed by Niantic, so keeping an eye-out will be the best strategy in the coming days.
It follows news that Niantic have now decided to drop the Pokemon Go Raids level requirement further, so that all Trainers can experience them.
It was expected that Niantic wouldn’t keep them sky-high for long, the mantra of the new system is to allow as many players to join in as possible.
“You and millions of Trainers, Level 5 and above, can now participate in Raid Battles at Gyms all around the world,” a message from Niantic explains.
“Gather your friends and family, locate a Raid using the Nearby screen, and take on the extremely powerful Raid Bosses near you!
“If you successfully defeat the Raid Boss within the three-minute time limit, you’ll have the chance to catch that Pokémon!
“Before a Raid Battle begins, a large Egg will appear atop the Gym with a countdown timer. When the countdown reaches zero, the Raid Boss will be revealed.
“You’ll need a Raid Pass, to battle the Raid Boss, and you can get one for free each day by visiting a Gym. You and up to 20 other Trainers can work together to defeat the Raid Boss.”
“In addition, you’ll receive a selection of rewards, which can include Rare Candies, Golden Razz Berries, and two types of Technical Machines—Fast TMs and Charged TMs.”
